  • Today I was honored to host an open discussion with environmental advocate and renowned philanthropist Tom Steyer.
  • He addressed the political and economic realities of climate change, and his vision to build an equitable and prosperous clean energy economy in California. A big thank-you to Mr. Steyer and CLU President Chris Kimball and his staff for making this event such a success!
  • Mr. Steyer is our first guest in our community speaker series. This series aims to bring statewide and national issues to the local stage to engage Ventura County residents in timely and important issues of the day. Stay tuned for our next event!

  • We had an amazing turnout at our first ever "Defeat the Drought" Water Conservation Expo this weekend! I am so proud to see so many folks come do their part to conserve water in this historic drought.
  • We learned how to embrace California native landscaping, recycle our water, and make our homes water-tight because every little bit makes such a big difference.
  • A big thank-you to the vendors, workshop hosts, and to the City of Thousand Oaks for making this event such a success! Can't wait for the next one!

Ormond Beach Tour - Oxnard

Friday, May 8, 2015 - 00:00

The Nature Conservancy and the City of Oxnard invited Sen. Jackson and my office to tour Ormond Beach. We were given the opportunity to learn about the issues facing this part of the district. It was also a great way to spend some time with our interns.

The Ride included visits to six Memorial Sites in Ventura County. At each site tribute was paid to a fallen or living local Veteran. 100% of all net proceeds are used to help Veterans, their families and Veteran Organizations. Ride returned back to the Elks Lodge for their famous Tri-Tip sandwiches, Live Music and Raffle. It was great spending some time with our local veterans who continue to do so much for our community/
