Assemblymember Schultz Teams Up with CHP for Car Seat Safety & Installation Event

As Chair of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety, Schultz spearheaded the initiative with the goal of raising awareness about the critical importance of proper car seat and booster seat use for children, including infants. The event also included local community partners, including CalKIDS, First 5 California, Burbank Library, North Hollywood Library, PBS SoCal, the Getty Museum, Burbank Fire Department, Burbank Police Department, and Burbank Recycle Center, who shared resources for new parents, soon-to-be parents, and caregivers.

“I would like to thank our event partners, the Burbank Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol, I’m putting together a wonderful community event to raise awareness about the importance of child passenger safety,” said Assemblymember Nick Schultz. “Every year, there are thousands of vehicular crashes across the California. It’s imperative that we ensure our children are properly restrained to avoid the risk of serious injury or death. I’m grateful to all of the CHP technicians who dedicated their time to ensure that Burbank parents are taking every available precaution to safeguard their children.”

Individuals who were unable to attend the event and still need assistance can schedule an appointment by contacting their local CHP Area or Division Office, which provides car seat services year-round. https://www.chp.ca.gov/find-an-office/ Assemblymember Nick Schultz’s District Office looks forward to hosting more in 2026.
