It was so nice to join Senator Aisha Wahab, Darcy Totten, the Interim Executive Director of the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, Lisa Middleton for State Senate, and Sabrina Ashjian at the California Women Lead Golden Hour summer reception honoring Senator Susan Rubio, Margita Thompson, Holly Martinez, and Erika Contreras. These powerful women are doing amazing work!

As the Olympics wind down, I wanted to congratulate all of our athletes. Watching you shine is such an honor. You make us all proud. And to my constituent Ben Hallock of Studio City, I hope you crush it tomorrow!

As a parent, there is no greater concern when driving than making sure your children are safe. Thank you CHP - Altadena and First 5 California for partnering with my office to inspect and install baby and booster seats. We made fifty children safer while driving!

Today is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. This day is meant to remind us that black women earn just $0.69 for every dollar earned by a white man. Equity & opportunity for black women are directly linked to pay equity. We must close the gap.

As we celebrate the July 4th & the birth of our nation, let us reflect on the work that we still have to do to truly make the United States a more perfect union. I hope the BBQ is hot, you are staying cool, and that the fireworks are both safe and beautiful! Happy 4th of July!!

It’s an incredible honor to be named Transit Champion of the Year by the West Side Democrats. The Westies honor Democrats from West Los Angeles whose policies promote equity, affordability, and sustainability. I was in amazing company.

Willie Brown Jr was born in segregated Texas, but it was to California that he gave his service. Willie Brown was Mayor of San Francisco and the longest serving speaking of the California Assembly. He's 90 years old today. I was honored to join the California Assembly in honoring his legendary life and career!
