Two days. Two bills. Last year I co-authored a bill that said autonomous heavy trucks need a driver in the vehicle until such time as the technology is proven safe. Technology and innovation are important, but public safety cannot come second. Last year’s bill passed the Legislature w/ bi-partisan support only to be vetoed. So, we brought it back and are working with Governor Gavin Newsom to ensure that this year’s bill becomes law.
