Sacramento – Today, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) honored Ascencia of Glendale as the 43rd Assembly District’s 2018 Nonprofit of the Year.

“Ascencia has been providing critical services to Californians experiencing homelessness in the 43rd Assembly District and across our region,” said Assemblymember Friedman.  “Their steadfast dedication to community service has been an inspiration to all and I am honored to recognize them for their tireless work.”

Originally founded as PATH Achieve Glendale, Ascencia has provided housing and services to homeless individuals and families since 2006.  Over the past twelve years, Ascencia has served nearly 12,000 homeless men, women, and children.  The organization continues to envision a community where people in need can find services, resources, and safe, affordable housing.

Ascencia was honored as part of the third annual California Nonprofits Day at the State Capitol.  Each year, approximately 100 nonprofit organizations are honored from communities across California by their elected officials.
