Burbank – On Friday, September 7th, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) announced her panel of judges for the 43rd Assembly District Photography Competition:
Ara Oshagan, a Glendale local who has earned international acclaim for his exhibits and permanent collections across California, Florida, and Armenia; Jerry DeWilde, a Silver Lake resident and legendary photographer most known for his work capture the counterculture movement of the 1960’s and 1970’s; and Catherine McGann, a Burbank local who has had a long career as a photojournalist and has had work featured in the New York Times, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, People, Guitar World, Mute and Rykodisc.
Her office began accepting submissions for the 43rd Assembly District’s Photography Competition on August 1st and will continue accepting work until the September 30th deadline.
At the end of the competition, she will host a Gallery Event showing selected works on October 5th , from 5:30-7:30pm at the Adams Square Mini Park in Glendale, where she will announce five photographs which will be displayed at the State Capitol building and our District Office.

Laura Friedman represents the 43rd Assembly District which encompasses the cities of Burbank, Glendale, and La Cañada Flintridge, as well as the communities of La Crescenta and Montrose, and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Atwater Village, Beachwood Canyon, Los Feliz, East Hollywood, Franklin Hills, and Silver Lake.
