SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, as part of this year’s California Small Business Day celebration, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) recognized Crescenta Valley Insurance as the 43rd Assembly District’s 2019 Small Business of the Year.  She presented the award to President Rick Dinger and his wife Heather Dinger at a luncheon hosted by the California Small Business Association (CSBA).

California Small Business Day is an annual celebration created by the passage of House Resolution 57 in 2000.  Over 1,500 business owners and representatives of small businesses from across California gathered this year, to be honored by legislators and other state leaders.  The day was created to honor the small businesses and entrepreneurs of California who make outstanding contributions to the economy, workforce, and communities throughout our state.

“Our small businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them form the backbone of our communities.  They are highly involved in local issues, provide crucial day-to-day necessities and services, and help establish the character of a neighborhood,” said Assemblymember Friedman. “I can think of few businesses in my district that have done this with as much care, compassion, and dedication to our community as Crescenta Valley Insurance has.”

Founded in 1969, Crescenta Valley Insurance is an independent insurance agency located in La Crescenta.  In February, they celebrated their 50th anniversary at an event held in Glendale and were joined by over one hundred community members, local leaders, and elected officials.  From the beginning, Crescenta Valley Insurance has been known throughout the region as offering high-quality services and as a leader in customer care.

With their success they have become one of the 43rd Assembly District’s leading community contributors and philanthropic supporters.  The company, Rick Dinger, and its staff have played active roles in local causes including the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Glendale Community College Foundation, Glendale Sunrise Rotary, multiple chambers of commerce, and youth athletic teams.

“It is an honor to be recognized as the districts Small Business of the Year by Assemblymember Friedman,” said Rick Dinger, President of Crescenta Valley Insurance.  “For the past 50 years, Crescenta Valley Insurance has been blessed with a great staff and loyal clients. Being recognized as the Small Business of the Year is icing on the cake.”
