Assemblymember Friedman Seeks To House the Homeless

(Sacramento) - Working to solve the homeless crisis is a major priority in California. At the State Capitol, leaders like Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) are currently seeking compassionate change. She’s partnering with Assemblymember Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) to pass AB1971, which would help the gravely disabled have a second chance at life. “In Los Angeles County alone, over 800 homeless individuals died on the streets last year,” says Assemblymember Friedman. “For me, that’s inexcusable. We have to do more to give people in crisis the help that they need.”

Assemblymember Friedman Part of United Effort to End Homelessness in California

Assemblymember Friedman Remembers Entrepreneur, Family Man Allen Lund

(Sacramento) - With a special announcement on the California Assembly floor, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) remembers Allen Lund, who founded a prominent trucking company and supported many endeavors with the Catholic Church. Lund was married for 57 years and helped raise six children. “Allen Lund was a pillar of the La Cañada community, and a remarkable philanthropist who touched the lives of countless Californians,” says Assemblymember Friedman. Friedman, State Assembly Honor Late Mayor of Burbank Will Rogers

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) and the California State Assembly adjourned the April 23, 2018 floor session in the memory of Will Rogers. Rogers, who was serving as Burbank’s Mayor until his passing the previous week, died from liver cancer after a six month battle.
